Playstation 4 Exclusives – Our Top 3 Picks of 2018

Top 3 Picks

PlayStation 4 has an innumerous amount of exclusives over the past few years, and vastly shared their stories with us. Characters that we all find relateable and can’t help but fall in love with, wanting them to be real and in our everyday lives. Stories that can be told for ages to come. Here at Gaming 24/7, we are going to share with you our top 3 picks for PlayStation 4 Exclusives in the year of 2018.

Marvel’s Spider-Man

Spider-Man PS4

Who doesn’t like a great superhero game? How about a great Spider-Man game? Interested? Marvel’s Spider-Man was the most anticipated video game after airing its first trailer on E3, proving so, that in just three days 3.3 million copies were sold. 3.3 MILLION!

Now maybe it’s just me, but swinging from building to building with such fluidity, interacting with the environment and people in the streets on rooftops, kicking absolute ass with awesome combat tactics similar to that of the Arkham series, and of course the selfie photos has got me feeling all fuzzy inside. This game really does a great job making you feel like Spider-Man!

Of course, having an amazing story just adds to the element that either avid comic book readers or newcomers can love equally. Being that I grew up in the 90s and growing up with new adaptations of Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Spider-Man PS1, the Raimi Trilogy, and my all time favorite, the Spider-Man 2 video game, I had a lot to look forward too!

Marvel’s Spider-Man will have you zipping through a beautifully detailed city of New York City exploring for collectibles, taking photos of popular monuments, explosive challenges, and all the crime your little heart desires! The amount of detail and unlockable suits in this game is insane!

IGN rates an 8.7/10 and Metacritic rates 87/100.

Goodbye Spider-Man 2. Hello Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4!

Don’t forget that as of right now, Marvel’s Spider-Man has exclusive DLC coming out titled “The City that Never Sleeps”, with its first installment releasing in October 2018, followed by two more. Expected to release in November and December of 2018.

God of WarGod of War PS4

God of War. Must I say more? God of War for the PS4 is the eighth installment to the series. Although, being the eighth game developed, it is the sequel to God of War III.

God of War is spectacularly beautiful in every way visually. I cannot deny that I miss the old hack’n’slash game play and destroying all the Gods, there is no denying the mastery that was put into this game.

You are Kratos, the retired God of War, whos second wife has died. He and his son Atreus want to fulfill their promise to spread her ashes. Where do you ask? The highest peak of the nine realms.

To me, that sounds like a lot of work. If I die, just throw my ashes into the cookie jar. But hey, a promise is a promise, right? And we must fulfill it! But that doesn’t mean you’re going to just run through a field of flowers and expect this to be easy. You’re going to have ultimate foes who want you dead. What should you do? Punch them through a tree.

Now instead of a placed camera, the game is set with an over the shoulder set up which enhances the fighting tactics with your enemies.

This game is full of adventure and axe throwing. Upgrading your gear, solving puzzles, exploring and finding collectibles, obliterating giant monsters, God of War has something for you!

IGN rates a 10/10 and Metacritic rates 95/100. That’s a fantastic rating! God of War released 3.1 Million copies in its first three days. That’s something to be proud of!

Detroit: Become Human

Detroit Become Human PS4

Detroit: Become Human marveled us with just how big this game was compared to its predecessors, such as Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain. There are so many decisions you can make! Every time I passed a chapter and checked out the timeline, it showed the endless possibilities I could have made! It just made me want to go back and play it again and again.

In Detroit, you play as three different characters: Markus, Kara, and Conner. All of which are androids. Markus and Kara are slaves, so to speak, to your owners. Conner is an android sent by CyberLife to investigate crimes committed by “Deviants”. A deviant is an android who overcomes the coding in their systems and become alive.

Johnny 5 is alive!… No one? Seriously? Alright…

I love how when I play the game, going through the story, I get to see how my influences impact the rest of the game. Will the people I work with love me and try to protect me? Or will they simply hate me because I am an android? Make the right decisions, which there really aren’t any, to find out!

The graphics and voice over in Detroit are simply fantastic. The controls can be a little clunky, but that’s quite alright. Everything else makes up for that.

Although, not as exciting as Spider-Man or God of War, Detroit sold 1 Million units in a span of two weeks. Which is still quite an achievement for Quantic Dream

IGN rates 8/10 and Metacritic rates 78/100.

Now I’m going to go back and replay Detroit. Why do you ask? Simply because I still have so many decisions I can make, new paths to explore. It really is a treat to see how much effort was put into Detroit.

Why not more?

Why did we only stick to three games you ask? The answer is simple really. It’s because if we kept going, we simply could not stop! But these three games hold a very special place in our hearts here at Gaming 24/7 for our PlayStation Exclusives.

Spider-Man and God of War, great games or not, would still make it on my list because of my upbringing. I grew up with Spider-Man, loving every movie and video game that was made. Then of course battling the God’s, making me feel like a complete bad ass for eight games in a row!

Here at Gaming 24/7, we want to give you our honest truth on how we feel with games. We understand we are not all going to have the same opinion. Which is completely fine! You can share your top favorite picks!

But until then, I’m out! Thanks for reading!
